Save the children with partners including; UNICEF commemorated the silver jubilee of the enactment of the UN Convention on the rights of the child (CRC) held at the Golf course hotel. The first lady, Janet Museveni, commended Save the children and their local and International partners for protecting the rights of children.

Teenage pregnancy is still a challenge

On October 17, Save the Children, in collaboration with Action for Community Development (ACODEV) and Bundibugyo Local Government, marked the International Safe Motherhood Day. Under the theme Teenage Pregnancies an Obstacle to Safe Motherhood; Stop it Now, the event drew attention to the problem of early marriage in the district.

“Bundibugyo is one of the districts with the highest number of early marriages, hence the teenage pregnancies,” said Harriet Ntabaazi, the district Woman Member of Parliament.
